Want to help native wildlife (and your vege patch) through backyard trapping?
Head along to the Valley Project Community Rooms anytime during Valley Project opening hours. The team will have monitoring devices (tracking tunnels, chew cards and trail cameras) available to help you find out what might be lurking in your backyard and traps to borrow for rats and possums.
Traps are available for properties in the wider Lindsay Creek catchment (Opoho, North East Valley, Dalmore, Pine Hill, Liberton, Normanby and Upper Junction) and also servicing Glenleith and Woodhaugh!
When: Tuesday-Friday 9am-3pm, Saturday 10:30am-2:30pm.
Where: Valley Project Community Rooms
Contact: Clare Cross – email [email protected] or phone 03 473 8614
If you would like more information or are interested in volunteering, please email [email protected], or call the Valley Project on 03 473 8614.
The trap library is made possible as part of the Open VUE Backyard Ecosanctuaries programme and through support from Predator Free Dunedin’s City Sanctuary Programme, ORC’s Ecofund and Dunedin’s Environment Strategy: Te Ao Tūroa.
Open VUE (Valley Urban Ecosanctuary) is a community-led collaborative project, bringing together the community, the Valley Project, Orokonui Ecosanctuary and the University of Otago.
